I want to introduce a meditation which some of you have been doing the last few days I want to give you a deeper understanding of it. You see what you need is constantly to be challenged, to go beyond where you are. One of the dangers is you can settle back to what you have been
What you have been is not necessarily what you can be. This meditation which I call a Mastery Meditation is for you to push yourself to reach your height at all times. Until you become enlightened the struggle is to remain at your best because you have two points, the lower and the higher.
You constantly live in this duality, the lower and the higher. In the lower nothing is right. You see yourself being pulled back to the old, the old habits the old routine, the old reality. But whenever you push yourself to the best, you have a peek of something new.
The path is to remain at your best and to make it your base. And once you have reached that best you see the next height. You will always have this duality, the lower and the higher. The lower is when you are fallen. The higher is when you have risen. The idea is to remain in the risen state and to make that your normal state and the moment you make it normal you see your next height.
If you want to know what is the ego, the ego is when you live in your lower and pretend to be in your higher. That’s the ego. You are in the lower but you want to pretend that you are in the higher, that is the ego.
In enlightenment there is neither, no lower, no higher, you have arrived. You can never fall, it is not a possibility in that domain. The Mastery Meditation is a living meditation. It is not a spiritual meditation. It is a meditation to push yourself to reach the best you can be in your performance, in your day to day, to be the best in every aspect, at all times.
That is the key of this meditation. And in this meditation the whole Four Disciplines is hidden. So as you become familiar with this meditation, to embody the Discipline becomes easier.
First before you even enter into the meditation, you must first be ready to let go of the lower in you, you must be at least pointing, directing yourself towards the best you can be.
If you have justified your lower as you, then this meditation can be a bit of a pain. So first, before even you enter this mediation have the commitment at least to want to reach your best.
That is the right psychological state to be in. I want to reach higher. In the beginning you will not know, which is the lower, which is the higher. But slowly you will know, you become very clear, when your whole energy is rising you are different. You are happier, sharper, more able, your life falls according to you, your reality is the way you want it. Then whenever you go lower you see everything starts going wrong. Sometimes people tell me, Master I’m having a bad time. No the time is not bad, just some time ago you fell. You just didn’t recognize it. And the repercussion of the falling is this. Sometime people say, Master I’m having a good time. The time is not good, just a little bit earlier he had risen. And the risen state produced that result, the fallen state produced that result, it is not time.
My work with you is to challenge you to be your best. I am saying you are not this past, you are more than this. All Masters constantly tell, look into the student’s eyes and remind them you are a Master. You are an enlightened being, you are, you deserve the best. But now believing this won’t do. Rising to this is what is needed, in every aspect.
